Frequently asked

Do I need an account to use Athar?
No. Open the app and record your first transaction right away. We never ask for an email or a password, because your data stays on your device and there is no account to store it in.
Does Athar work without internet?
Yes. Recording, stats and budgets all work offline, and so do the assistant's two on-device layers. You only need internet for three things: cloud backup, exchange-rate updates, and cloud assistant questions for subscribers.
I lost my phone or got a new one. How do I get my data back?
Install Athar on the new device, choose "Restore from backup" and point it at your own cloud (iCloud or Google Drive). Remember that the only copy is the one in your cloud; we hold nothing we could restore for you, so keep backup switched on.
The amount extracted from a receipt or voice entry is wrong. What do I do?
Tap the pending transaction, correct the amount or category, then approve it. Nothing counts until you approve it. If the same error keeps repeating, send us an example (without sensitive details) and we'll improve the extraction.
How do I cancel Athar Plus, and what happens to my data?
Cancel from Apple ID settings → Subscriptions → Athar Plus. Your data is untouched: every transaction stays where it is, and all that changes is that you return to the free plan's limits. Recording, backup and export stay free and unlimited.
Why did the cloud assistant stop answering today?
Most likely you reached the cloud assistant's daily limit. The limit protects the service and keeps it fast for everyone, and it resets automatically each day. The on-device layers (Apple intelligence and computed answers) always work without limits.
When does Athar launch? And is it on Android?
Athar hasn't shipped yet; we're in the final stretch before release, and it lands first on iPhone and iPad. Android is our next stop, then the web and Apple Watch. Leave your email here and we'll write to you on launch day.
Does Athar support the Hijri calendar or Arabic?
Yes, both. The interface is available in Arabic and English, the calendar can be Gregorian or Hijri, and you switch either in Settings. Multiple currencies with automatically updated rates are supported too.
