Terms of Use
By using Athar you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and in plain language.
1. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use Athar on your devices to manage your own money. You may not resell the app, reverse-engineer it, or use its content in a competing product.
2. Athar is a measuring tool, not a financial adviser
Athar shows your numbers, calculates them and explains them, and its coach notes are general guidance based on your own data. None of this is investment, credit or tax advice; your financial decisions are yours alone.
3. Accuracy of extracted data
Whatever Athar extracts from voice, a receipt, a statement or a bank message stays "pending your approval": review it before recording. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you approve, and balances in Athar don't replace your bank's official statement.
4. Backup is a shared responsibility
We give you backup to your own cloud and unlimited full export. Turning backup on, protecting your cloud account and keeping a recent copy are your responsibility: your data lives on your device, and we hold no copy we could restore for you if a device is lost without a backup.
5. The Athar Plus subscription
- Subscriptions run through the App Store and renew automatically unless you cancel from your Apple ID settings before the renewal date.
- Prices are "fair for every country": they vary by currency and purchasing power, and are shown clearly before you buy.
- Whatever you obtain under an offer (such as the founders' offer) stays yours on the terms you subscribed under.
- Cancelling never costs you your data: you return to the free limits and keep everything you recorded.
Our standing promise: recording, backup and export are free forever, and your data will never be held hostage behind a subscription.
6. Fair use of the cloud assistant
The Athar Cloud assistant for subscribers has a daily usage limit that protects the service from abuse and keeps it fast for everyone. The on-device layers of the assistant always work, without limits.
7. Intellectual property
The Athar name, logo, design and copy belong to us. Your financial data belongs entirely to you, and we claim no rights over it.
8. Limitation of liability
We do our utmost to make Athar accurate and stable, but it is provided "as is" without absolute warranties. We are not liable for losses arising from financial decisions you made based on the app, or from data loss where no backup was enabled, to the fullest extent permitted by the law applicable in your country of residence.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Athar at any time; export your data first if you want to keep it. We may suspend cloud services for any use that breaches these terms or harms other users.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves, and we'll show any material change inside the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept it.
